No:3 Finished....
Finally I have completed something off my list of WIP's 2010... This ''friendship start'' quilt was started 2 years ago with my local craft group... with members who have moved on to greener pastures and who are still here.... we all chose a colour combination for the star and background and I have no idea why I chose orange and green!!!!!!!!!!!!!! but hey the go together quite well.... all the blocks are 12 inches finished...
I am no great photographer... unlike our friend ''chookyblue'' she is wonderful... though I did try to use some of the props from around my yard hahaha... and the pet sheep would play... as they did come to look and sniff and chew but when I went to take a pic they went camera shy....
I used a variegated thread on the long arm quilting machine we have at the local craft group to large stipple all over the star's and for the border triangles I used my domestic machine to sew one inch apart straight lines following the shape of the triangle....
This morning at 5.30am I finished sewing down the border... then waited for the sun to come up to take some photo's.... I am very happy to have number 3 off my list and have the quilt hanging over my lounge chair....

Blocks Blocks and More Blocks....
I have been so busy catching up with blocks that I am doing from magazines... blogland... and siteland...... I still have ''snowmen'' to catch up with... I have them all cut out and stuck down and the first stitches were done on one yesterday....
Teacups
May's teacup block... very sweet and dainty... these will be made into a runner or maybe a table topper for my Mum for Christmas...... and hopefully this Christmas coming... my Mum is a blue and white fan and has collected many things over the years... she does have some beautiful china and platters and some I do believe is antique...
Little Baskets.... Finished
Would you believe there are 200 of these little babies... yep 200... and I am so glad I have finished them hahahaha... now on to the decision making... to sash or not to sash.... I have a dark green fabric that I am thinking of using and the sashing would be about 1in finished... all around the boarder are to be set in triangles seeing its on point...
Here is a list of other girls doing the ''basket challenge''....
Anja
Ann
Beatrice

Carolyn
Pamina... no blog they say..
Barbara
So go look and see how they are all going... some have started putting their rows together and are sticking to the original pattern...
Homespun... Life Is A Celebration...
This block is called "nature''... it was fun and quick and so cute... I just need to put the 1 inch border's around it to finish it off...
Hubby has been busy putting a new shiny windmill head up this past week.. even the dogs have noticed as they have taken to standing at the fence and barking in it's direction?????
Tomorrow the truck coming to get the wool is going to attempt to get here again... if it don't rain hahahahah........

A Busy Day...
MMMMMMMMMMMM Yummo... this is a Tangy Lemon Slice and so delicious... my daughter gave me the recipe and when I have tourists I make a double batch and they all go away with the recipe...
Very easy and very quick to make and very quick to disappear....
Tangy Lemon Squares/Slice
125g Butter
1/4 cup icing sugar
1 1/4 cups plain flour
3 eggs
1 cup caster sugar
2 tsp grated lemon rind
1/2 cup lemon juice

-Preheat oven to moderate. Grease 23cm square slab pan; line base with baking paper.
-Beat butter and icing sugar in small bowl with an electric beater until smooth. Stir in 1 cup of the flour mix. Press mixture over base of prepared pan. Bake in moderate oven about 15minutes or until browned lightly.
-Place eggs, caster sugar, remaining flour, rind and juice in medium bowl, whisk until combined. Pour egg mixture over hot base. Bake in moderate oven about 20 minutes or until firm. Cool in pan on a wire rack.
-Lift slice from pan and cut into pieces. Dust with extra sifted icing sugar.
Life's A Celebration - Love
I think this is about block 7 of the Homespun Bom.. this one is designed by Monica Poole of Moon Shine Designs... I used 1/4 inch bias that I use in stain glass as I am a slacker and couldn't be bothered making the bias... oops hehehe
Looky Looky Look
I did say I just loved that sewing caddy....
so yesterday afternoon I made myself one... and yes in lime fabric...
It is now proudly sitting by my chair in the lounge room... making it look much tidier than having my sewing sitting on the arm of the chair and just waiting for a cat to sit its butt on it...
Love it.....

Some Beauties Around The Garden...
This photo does not do the geranium justice... as the colour is so dark and beautiful... there are about 3 brackets on it at the moment... I had to hold it as it's quite windy this morning... we ended up with 4 mls of rain...
I just love roses before they open...

And this one is called ''cocoa''... I forgot I even had this one in the garden... it is the first flower for this bush... and it is more of a brownie colour so different from any other that I have seen...
Off for a coffee....

A Couple Of Blocks Finished...
Well this should be on the bottom of the posting... but seeing I am on a roll with posting photo's hehehe...
Blocks 3 and 4 of Vicki's ''Flirting with Flowers BOM'' ... I have been so behind with some of my BOM's from around blogland but I am slowly catching up...
The weather is getting cooler and we have had a couple of very chilly days... no rain but there is a forecast for some today.... the day we are loading the wool out hahaha...

Finally A Post and A Bag...
I have been trying to do a post for weeks... but for some reason I have had trouble posting photo's and I have been very busy sewing I promise...

At my Aussie friend Bobbie's site we have a lovely lady who organises all the in house raffles we have... I could have told you this before hahaha... well she neva eva goes into them so a few of us got together and decided that she deserved to win a ''1st prize'' as well...

I made this very gorgeous ''sewing caddy'' with an unbelievable amount of pocket's which you will find the tutorial at ''ginabean handmade'' .... very very easy and great instructions... I have seen it made out of great fabrics around blog land... one girl was making one each for all the bridesmaids in a friends wedding.....

These are all the wonderful bits and pieces that were sent to me from the girls at Bobbie's... plus a few of my own additions... there was quite a bit...
And look how well it all fitted into the sewing caddy ...
every pocket held a little surprise of some sort of sewing notion and the inside was filled with fat 1/4's and charms... such generous girls there were....
I do have more photo's... fingers crossed I can post those later... as I have all my little baskets sewn and laid out...
