Still Getting Birthday Love...

 so much goodness in one little parcel...

 these two opened up this week,

how HUGE are they

and just beautiful...

 there is a lot of this happening at the moment

and

 a lot of this, 

as it is too freakin cold outside to even think of doing anything else...

 I had some left over bits from projects, next best thing... 

sew them together, quilt them, make binding

 and make some mug rugs.

 and a book bag for Grandie no1 for his Thomas books,

that go everywhere (plus his Wiggles one)

30 Years...

On Monday 27th October Hubby and I celebrated 30 years of marriage!

 We went to Matilda Bay Restaurant for lunch

 we had a wonderful 3 course meal... food was glorious

one of the sweets was "burger and fries"!!!!

 it was 

"Nutella gelato, crème patissiere, brioche bun,

 doughnut fries, strawberry sauce"

we also had

Parfait 

Banana parfait, peanut butter ice-cream, caramel popcorn 

 both were very yummy...

while Hubby has been home this time, 

he has been doing the edging around the garden beds...

 looks so much better

 will be easier to mow the lawn and whipper snip the edges

along the blocks now... still 2 areas to do.

hoping it also keeps the dogs from walking through them and digging hhhmmm?

 Hubby has gone back to work so back to the sewing room at night for me...

last nights sewing was putting the odd ends of my ''scrappy trip around the worlds" into blocks...

these are going to be place mats/heat mats/pot holders...

 hahaha sorry for the upside down photo only just noticed...

 these are rug mugs for an online swap

 we were given the patterns... I have added a little more detail to mine.

these are off to USA today...

Time Just Flies By...

I can't believe it is nearly the end of August

and

my posts seems to get longer in between (oops)

I did read somewhere last week that there was only 18 Thursdays until Christmas!!!!! 

well today is Thursday so now there must be only 17!!!!!!!

I have been busy doing "stuff" and does this puppy keep me on my toes... 

he is more of a handle full than my 15 month old Grandson and messier.......

My girlfriend had a birthday recently and she loves my mug rugs and did request some a while back if I had time and any theme... 

so for her birthday I made these for her...

 and yes she is a Hawthorn supporter.

 I also use Michelle's "initial" embroidery pattern.

 the Flowering Plum... well that's what we think it is hahaha... 

lost all its leaves and is now blossoming

it is so pretty... I did give it a little trim to keep its shape...

Even though I am not posting I am checking you all out each day :)

Block Swaps...

This week I finished up my last blocks with this group here

 I cut enough strips and ended up with two blocks for my partner

 and still had a few left over so I made a mug rug

and this will be put away to use for a pressie.

The Start Of 2013...

My last post was on the 1st but that doesn't mean I haven't been here or not surfing all your blogs...  I have been it's just that I haven't posted anything as my camera died before Christmas... 

what a time to do that???... 

so whats a girl to do.... 

order a new one

 and

waited

 then I get a phone call from the store saying that one has been deleted from the stockist??? wouldn't that of been red flagged??? so I choose another and I am assured that I won't need a new memory card as they are all standard 

''are you sure as I do live 7 hrs from a shop to buy one and mail would take 2 weeks"... 

''yep I am positive"... 

well guess what shop man? mine don't fit it... a little bit of swearing when on when I tried it... 

so now I have to wait until I go to Perth in 2 weeks to buy one and I will be taking my new camera with me just to make sure I get the right one...

 as you can see it is a LOT different from my little digital Olympus... 

the newbie is a Fuji and has LOTS of other buttons to press and play with... it did cost me more than I generally pay for a camera... 

but hey I have a Grandie coming and two weddings this year so a little splash was needed...

so seeing I haven't had a camera to use I decided to hijack hubby's work one shshshshshsssshhhhh... 

so at least you can see I have been sewing...

 two mug rugs for two friends having birthdays

 two pillows/cushions for my daughter who had a birthday last week...

 I used a variegated thread for the embroidery 

and some of my Amy Butler stash was used...

 the embroidery pattern is from Patchwork and Stitching Vol 12 No 5...

also I started, made and finished this baby quilt last week

 it is for my niece who is expecting a boy in a couple of months... 

and I didn't have to go shopping for any of the fabrics as they were all found in my stash... 

I even had enough batting and some lovely soft flannel for the backing...

this mug rug is for a swap and you can see what the theme was for this one...

 and finally my little spider plant thingy flowered... it didn't last year...

I just love it as it is so different...

 we had a storm go through here on Wednesday while hubby was in town 

(I was away delivering birthday pillows)

a bit of damage around the place... this tree was up rooted and on the ground when hubby came home...

it's a huge tree and took him two days to trim up and get standing again... 

I love the canopy and shade this one gives and it is always full of birds during nesting time...

the pool shed was ripped from its bolts and is roped down at the moment... a few larger branches off pepper trees have dropped as well... hubby says there are trees down through the bush as well...

we did get 30 mls of much needed rain though. 

WOW it has been awhile...

It has... but I have been doing heaps and back and forth to Perth...

I now have my car back all pretty from her trip to the ''car plastic surgeon'' no little dings from kangaroos are visible now either and no evidence of the car accident...

Christmas sewing has been happening and a lot of that has been secret... mind you I just seem to be having trouble getting into the ''organising of it'' Christmas that is... I am so behind with present shopping and ordering hams and turkeys... I need to find my "Christmas Spirit" or maybe an injection of it... you watch I will do a mad panic a week before and start sorting houses for guests and it will be in the mid 40's heat wise... ho hum hahahahahah

one day they will all be another large quilt I just need to keep adding more...

we are going to be Grandparents

this was at 9 weeks

and I went along to the 12 week scan

and my oh my how wonderful to see they even do a 3D one

just AWESOME

we are so excited

due first week of June...

baby will be 4+ months old at their wedding... 

little bit of an unplanned pregnancy

but very much wanted and loved...
