Happy Birthday To Me...Happy Birthday To Me
Hip Hip Hooray

Hahahaha yep you guessed it... It's my birthday today. I spent the day sewing and eating chocolate and drinking coffee, it was a nice relaxing day just doing nothing much really. My wonderful kids rang me and friends and my beautiful sister sang me happy birthday... very off key hahaha... OH and a friend rang me at 6.15am and sang happy birthday also... I was awake and had been for around 30 minutes, quite funny. My MIL cooked me dinner, a very nice roast chicken with all the trimmings and a chocolate pudding YUMMO.

These are some of the pressies I recieved and I did get some charms and jelly strips from some ''birthday swaps'' will post a photo when they all arrive.

Yesterday was a horrible winters day, just drizzled YUCK and today is windy and cold. We do need some sunshine as the solar power isn't coping to well with all these overcast days.

Mystery Quilt IFQ

While the cats away the mouse will play.... DH has been away for a few days with a group of fella's checking the ''rabbit proof fence'' so this mouse set her sewing machine up in the lounge room on a fold out table and proceeded to quilt two quilts and I am very proud of myself...I have just finished sewing the binding to this IFQ mystery... it is a very pretty quilt and I am sure that I will find a home for it.

This was the first ''mystery'' that I have ever done... I stuck to the ''suggested colour info'' oh expect one little change... the background was white or cream and I am not a white background girl unless that is the criteria hahaha... so I went for a golden mustard which I think has worked in quite well... I did enjoy the challenge of the mystery and I had a couple of panic attacks haha but I did find out that I do not like making half triangle square!

Ostrich Quilt... IFQ
Here is my centre block, which measures 24 1/2 inch square. The idea is we will download a new round once a month. You can do as many rounds as you like or...... you can skip one round, but only one then continue on until you think you have your quilt top looking as wonderful as you like. If you are interested go check out the IFQ link and join up.
My 1st round completed and added... a square in a square... I chose to go a darker round to try and frame the centre piece...

Friendship
A sweet wall hanging about friendship. I found this pattern in a magazine ages ago I loved the little saying. It will be put into my ''box of finished projects'' to await a special day for someone.

Pot Holders Galore

My local craft group had a ''pot holder making day'' these are the results... aren't they fantastic. We will put them on our ''sale'' table ready for a market day or for visitors to buy. We are going to have a ''project day'' each month and each member will come up with a project to be done on this day... The next project is ''chicken pin cushions'' they are so cute and so bright.

We shear in April here and these are some photo's taken during this years run. The photo's were taken by my sons friend.

The sheep being put into the shed by my daughter, son and a friend who helps out during this time. We shore around 4500 sheep this year and yielded 120 bales of wool.

Daughter and Dad hard at work drenching and backlining for worms and lice.

Working in the very dust sheep yards... But a fantastic photo.

A very tired working dog... ''cooling off''.

I hope you have enjoyed looking at the working life of our sheep station.

In the last couple of years I have made some memory quilts.

The maroon crazy quilt was for my niece's 21st.

The blue and grey swirling square was for my eldest daughter's 21st

and the most resent one using fat 1/4's was for my middle daughter's 21st.

I love going through all the old photo's looking at them when they were babies remembering their mile stones in life and remembering all the naughty things they got up to as well. We have the quilts on display at their parties like a photo board but one that never gets taken apart... this one gets folded up and put into a special bag.

These are some of the table runners I made for Christmas presents last year. I enjoy making table runners as they are a quick gift and you can make them as simple or as elaborate as you would like... All the receivers loved them.

I am back after a long absent spell of life just taking over and parts of it not for the good either.
I have had lots of encouragement from my dear friend Beatrice to get back into my blogging and show my crafts off and the surrounding country side of where I live.
So stay tuned.....
