Tackling The Beast and a Quickie....
Its like the saying "I must I must improve my bust"... you know when you are 13 and really really want those boobies to improve... well so must my sewing on the ''beast''... the PFAFF Expression 4.0 that is... I have been putting off attempting to do some applique on it as I am very comfortable with my 2020 PFAFF and the excuse was ''I didn't have enough bobbins for the all the different cottons".............. well I do have enough now.... so ''I must I must improve my satin stitch on the beast".... so here it goes.......
I love the bigger foot and the actual ''hole'' is bigger and clearer for seeing where you are going... plus I love the fact that I can set the speed... which is so wonderful for curves....
So far it's great and the stitches sit so lovely... I did have to play with the stitch settings to get it ''right for me''... length 2.5... width .6... I usually use .3 or .4 on the 2020 but that was too tight on the beast....
All in all it has turned out quite well... practise will make uuuuuummmm me better hehe not perfect hehehe.... I may need to use a stabiliser on the back with the beast as it did pucker a wee bit..... I seem to be able to get away with it on the 2020....

Look At These Quickies
These little beauties were so quick to knock up... I have had the tutorial save for ages and yesterday thought I'd do a couple... well I ended up doing to lots of 6....
Very very easy to do and these little coasters would make a great extra pressie... I have mores squares cut out ready in a country colour theme... you could honestly have a quick present in and hour for someone...
The sale sheep went last night off to their new home on a farm to have their lambs in a few months... sheep are worth quite a bit of money at the moment and there aren't many around... we are off to Perth in the early hours as I have a skin doctors appointment and to the dentist on Thursday... have the crown fitted and to see how the infected bone/tooth is healing...

A Long Post.................
After weeks of 5am starts for mustering... shearing has been and gone for another year... and I am able to post all that I have been doing during this time.... helping bring sheep down to the paddocks... cooking... sewing... cleaning... being a nurse (scary for the sick/injured person)
This is me driving the Toyota with the crate on the back... that's right the sun isn't even up yet... aren't people on the land mad!!!!!! There are 3 motorbikes travelling in front of me... but you cant see them as it is too dark... I did say ''people on the land are mad''...............
This is not a fire... it is the sun coming up... actually it is a beautiful time of the morning with all the birds singing away... I even saw 2 swan's on a pool of water... I did try to get a photo but it was too dark...
Shearing is over all I seem to do was cook cook cook and wash and clean... lucky the team brings their own cook with them and that's all she has to do is cook... not look after a house and yards with heaps of garden and any other little thing that gets thrown your way... but hey it's only for a few days... the shearer's all left yesterday and I have spent the morning cleaning bathrooms and washing all the mattress protectors... we have a group of 16 booked in from the AG Dept on the 4th May... with ALL meals included... and with going to Perth on Wednesday we need to have all the rooms made up before we go... Last night we had toast for dinner hahahaha
Kevin the Gnome...
These cute little fellas are a ''no sew swap'' that I am doing with the girls at Bobbie's site... we are using the pattern from FatCat with permission... there are 9 of us in the swap... and I have stuck down 12 and just cant wait to start receive so I can start sewing them... love them... all of FatCat patterns are so cute and so easy to follow... Now Bobbie's site has been opened up to invite others in... so if you are interested go look.............. but we are only really open to Aussie girls... sorry....
Some Lovely Friends Sent Me....
A very lovely lady "Maureen" sent me this block... it is so beautifully stitched... Maureen lives in Canada and is taking classes in redwork... well I think she is getting top marks or should be... thank you for the gift and I will be making it into something very soon....
And the very sweet Val sent me these... the white stuff is ''whisper welt''... Val uses it on the back of her hand stitching and she sent me some last year to try and I tell you it is wonderful stuff... but I just don't see it here at all... it is so soft...
Isn't the little embroidery beautiful... I am thinking of making myself one of those journals I made and putting this on the cover........ for me..... thank you my sweet friend....
Life Is A Celebration....
Blocks 3, 4, 5 and 6 (still stitching 6) These I have been catching up with while shearing has been on... while I have been waiting for the workers to come in for meals I had been stealing a few minutes here and there...
I am just loving these BOM's they are so cute... sweet and relaxing...
The sayings make you think about those in your life and how important family and life is and that we should enjoy each other more....
During this past week we had some tragic news... one of Greg's cousins... her eldest son 23 yrs old... was killed in a horrible car accident... he still hasn't been formally identified yet and his Mum has had to give her DNA.... he was a great kid... a real bush kid who loved his horses and his friends very much... Greg and I always said he was born 100 yrs to late... an old timer in a young body with a heart of gold.....
Love your family and hold them close...

Some Rain... Baby Quilt and a PJ Day...
It's raining and has been since about 7.30 this morning... nothing heavy just steady... hubby came home from mustering sheep a bit wet and cold... lucky I thought of lighting the heater so there was hot water... he had about 50 sheep and was a couple of km's from the gate but gave up when the rain got heavier... he enjoyed the hot shower...
Because of the rain I have decided on a ''PJ Day''... nothing better than hanging out in your fav flannel pj's hahahaha..... and you would think with this rain that no-one would surely turn up on a wet dirt road........... but yes so far 2 cars have come through...... but this girl is staying inside and Greg can deal with them hahahaha.... haven't even had a shower or put a bra on hahahahahaha
This is one of the blocks on the ''baby quilt'' and yes he is missing his tail which I found in the little plastic bag after when I was cleaning up from this quilt... oh well he is a ''bobcat''
I love this duck/goose... reminds me of ''Jemima Puddle Duck''
The finish... I am so pleased with it and I am sure little Felix is going to love crawling over it and making animal sounds... his birthday is on Friday... I sent it back to Perth with my daughter so she can give it to him on his actual birthday...
While out mustering yesterday Greg came across 2 dingo's in a mob of sheep... he thought they looked pretty scattered and then he saw one with blood around it's bum... and all of a sudden a dog came out from the mob and started circling him on his bike with his work dog on the back... wasn't frightened at all more curious... the the other dog still among the sheep took off and this one followed... he didn't have his gun with him... bit hard to ride with a rifle... but he did take it today and there was no sign of them... they make a mess of the sheep and it is horrible to see...
On a nicer note......
How was Easter? Our kids were home and it was great to have them all here... lots of choccy was exchanged....mmmmmmmmmmmmmm yumm yumm

WOOHOO... back on my computer...
It is so good to be using my computer again with all my Internet sites in my favourites list... so now I can be back to visiting you all and leaving comments on your wonderful work... and I can now also post photo's of what I have been up to...
This first pic is a baby quilt that I am making for the little fella my middle daughter nannies... he will be turning one in a week and she has been doing animal sounds with him... he is so cute when he makes the sounds... his Mum's family are all in Spain so he doesn't have much family here in Perth... but his Dad's family are in Queensland...
I am up to sewing down the binding now so next photo will be of a finished quilt... most of the patterns are from ''FatCat Patterns'' which is a great place for freebies...
My heart blocks from the ''heart swap'' with my Canadian and Aussie friends... ideas from various craft magazines....
All the blocks that I have seen photo's of on the net are so different and I can't wait to start receiving my swap blocks... may make some more blocks to make it bigger...
This is February's ''teacup'' with the Aussie/Canadian girls... March is up and I have it printed off and traced out and are busy stitching getting it done before April's is up on line...
So you can see I have been busy while I have had not had my computer... mind you not much has been finished off my ''side bar list of things to finish this year''... there always seems to be other projects to start hahahahaha... and they are so tempting and calling me hahahaha
Hope no one got to many ''April Fool'' jokes played on them... not one for me boohoo...
My kids are driving home today for the Easter weekend... so I will be on the edge of my seat until they are here... will keep busy so the time passes quickly...
Happy Easter to you all...
