A Big Post.....
I have been busy sewing sewing sewing.... The Gumtree Girls have had many projects for us to do since they have started their blog and I have printed of a few of them and kept them aside for when I had a little time from other stitching.... The week before Mother's Day the girls had a wonderful project for each day with something special you could make for your Mum... I never got around to making any of them then.... but I have made a couple of things from that week...

A very cute doily ... it was so easy to stitch and put together... I did machine applique mine with a satin stitch and I quilted around my centre a couple of times... very pleased with the finish... I now have 8 centres traced out ready for stitching....
Also you will find this great book mark here
I have done mine using variegated threads they are so cute... a friend told me the other day that when she borrows a book from a friend she returns it with a handmade book mark as a thank you... I thought that was a wonderful idea and such a thoughtful thing to do... I am now going to keep that in mind for the next time I borrow a book from a friend....
Now remember the secret quilt I was making.................
Well it was for mu hubby... I have never made him a quilt sooooooo I thought for his birthday I would make him one... I used all the green charms that I received for my birthday last year in a ''birthday swap''.... he had been telling the cat the other week that his throw on his chair was getting a little thin..... hehehehehehe.... little did he know I was all ready fixing that problem....

I also made to cushions with the left over blocks... hubby likes to lay on the slate floor in the summer as he finds it so much cooler... now he has two cushions to do so....

I used the ''disappearing 9 patch'' pattern....
I also have managed a finish as well.... WOOHOO...
My friends and I over here last year did an online friendship quilt... we use the ''Applique Delights book from Piece-o-Cake Designs''... we did it as BOM... great fun....
I decided to turn mine into a quillow... my first... I am now no longer a ''quillow virgin''
On my blocks I used beads and crystals... they are so pretty and I am so happy with the finish...

I used a purple patterned fabric for the borders but it hasn't shown up very well in the photo... the flowers in the border are also from the book as is the quillow cushion cover...
I can now take number 6 of my list....
