When Life Gets Busy....

Well thats my excuse... 

I always have such good intentions on posting regular when I last post BUT.............. 

it just doesn't seem to happen that way hahahaha

I have finished ALL the applique on this quilt and have the faces to embroider... 

only a couple left, then put the rows together....

 meanwhile... inbetween... when I get bored of one project... I start another 

 this is the ''V stitch" and I used a varigated 8ply...

turned out quite lovely and the friend I gifted it to was very surprised...

her comment "I have water coming out of my eyes"... heart swell...

I had some balls left and made a baby rug... to be gifted...

 I sent away for the 

Better Homes and Garden crochet kit on a HUGE hook... 15mm

 I am doing the ''natural" colours

 had lunch with these three gorgeous lads last weekend

and their Mums... middle daughters birthday...

 and accidental action shot... he LOVES jumping.

 I have had some exquisite roses from the garden...

Did I say that I actually finished the BHG rug!!!

It crochets up sooooo quickly...

 Loved this hahaha

Nearly Crying...

OH My Gawd... 

just tried to get into my blog and it was coming up as someone totally different, 

wouldn't even let me sign in???????????

But I put my big girl blouse on, didn't cry and tried again and again...

with success /o\ /o\/o\

BUT....

that wasn't what I was going to post about...

I have been off the radar for the past 10 days as we had a Grandie in hospital

 and I had a Grandie here to look after...

The baby, 8 month old Lawson, had cellulitis in his right hand, 

was blown up like a rubber glove... 

so he spent 3 days in PMH on an intravenous drip with Mum by his side... 

Dad had just flown out that morning to the oil rig for work...

There was no cut or scratch or bite to tell 3 doctors why it happened and they were very reluctant to start cutting.... 

but he is all well now and had an extra seven day course of antibiotics...

Mum and the two boys went home today and our home is so very quiet ;( :(

Before the break in transmission I had been working on the applique pieces

today I did some of the hand stitching on the faces

I need to buy some green cotton to applique the leaves... 

I don't have anything that is suitable at all...

next I will need to start on the other half of the quilt top...

I haven't done one stitch or cutting out of the The Splendid Sampler...

I have been printing out the patterns though... now that life is back to normal I can get a bit of sewing done.............

Let The Applique Begin....

I have finished tracing, cutting, ironing, cutting and sticking...

 now to the appliqueing... I am satin stitching them all.

Which will take awhile hahaha

A little Of This....

Earlier in January I needed to finish off a birthday present...

Two huge Swoon cushions... with pebble quilting...

 I've signed up for this... 100 blocks!!!!! 

they are only 6.5 x 6.5 and 2 a week...

 fingers crossed I keep up heehee

 at the moment I am working on this pattern for my my grandie Judd

he is about to go into a bigger bed

I was hiding inside today... the temp got to 44!!!

I checked the veggie patch out this evening and it is struggling big time,

tomorrow is meant to be 43 so it will be hotter probably!!!!!!

Christmas 2015 and a bit of water...

Seeing we had two newbies to the family,

 they needed Christmas stockings to be made for them...

 This Yaya had to get her "finger out" and into action!

 All lined up and ready for Santa... 

Hubby thinks we could add at least ten more stocking to the fire place!!!

 We have Santa come and visit in the morning to hand out the stockings to the little fellas...

 We think this ''first time Christmas Mum" went a little crazy

A new bike...

A couple of weeks ago we had a storm fall just over the area we live in... the local

town got 3 mls of rain all day we had 50+ mls and most of that fell in just under an hour...

not sure exactly how much rain as the gauges overflowed!

 this is behind my house

 nice little creek has formed here but down the back.......

a river...

Apparently this hasn't happened before...

 we need a truck and bobcat to get rid of all the rubbish and one fence on the South side needs replacing as it is buried... I did get a temporary fence up in the dark with some help...

 Hubby aka The Boarder was away...
