My Brother....
Today is 2 years since my younger brother died tragically in his sleep...
he was 44 yrs old... and fit and just had a full medical for his new job...
he had two heart diseases that were not found and even after he died it took the coroner 6 months to find that was the cause...
I miss my 2 brothers and you don't realise how much they mean to you until they have gone from your life....
Now Shaun and Lee are together....
Love and miss you both terribly

I used a grey embroidery thread... isn't he cute and so relaxed... reminds me of a couple of lazy buggers around here that have a wonderful life... actually they have chef's... their very own butler to open doors for them... a maid who cleans and fluffs up their lounge for them... their very own fire lighter person...
I am most defiantly coming back as a cat to a home like this one...

Another Caddy... and A Visitor
It's a friend birthday and she had been admiring the sewing caddy that I had been making... so while in Perth a few weeks back we saw this fabric great fabric... I ended up getting a couple of metres as it really took my eye even though hubby chose it for this friend... can't say who the friend is either as I don't think she has the parcel yet...
Don't you just love the fabric... it was bought in Spotlight and it is called ''SUNBURST Allover Black/Yellow"... I used some dyed fabric of my own hands for the lining...
Our middle daughter is home for a week or more... the family she nannies for has gone to Spain for a month... the Mum is from Spain and her family have not seen the little fella at all except for photo's and he is now 15 months... he is gorgeous and such a little character...
Yesterday we made sausages... the flavours were "Roma Tomato and Caramelised Onion"... "River Mint and Lemon Myrtle"... "Merlot and Cracked Pepper"...
We were having trouble with synthetic skins so the last batch was made into patties... we ended up with around 36kg of sausages and patties... we share them with our kids and some of their friends...
I have been checking out some great blogs... if you get a chance have a look around as there are some wonderfully talented ladies out there....

A Big Post.....
I have been busy sewing sewing sewing.... The Gumtree Girls have had many projects for us to do since they have started their blog and I have printed of a few of them and kept them aside for when I had a little time from other stitching.... The week before Mother's Day the girls had a wonderful project for each day with something special you could make for your Mum... I never got around to making any of them then.... but I have made a couple of things from that week...

A very cute doily ... it was so easy to stitch and put together... I did machine applique mine with a satin stitch and I quilted around my centre a couple of times... very pleased with the finish... I now have 8 centres traced out ready for stitching....
Also you will find this great book mark here
I have done mine using variegated threads they are so cute... a friend told me the other day that when she borrows a book from a friend she returns it with a handmade book mark as a thank you... I thought that was a wonderful idea and such a thoughtful thing to do... I am now going to keep that in mind for the next time I borrow a book from a friend....
Now remember the secret quilt I was making.................
Well it was for mu hubby... I have never made him a quilt sooooooo I thought for his birthday I would make him one... I used all the green charms that I received for my birthday last year in a ''birthday swap''.... he had been telling the cat the other week that his throw on his chair was getting a little thin..... hehehehehehe.... little did he know I was all ready fixing that problem....

I also made to cushions with the left over blocks... hubby likes to lay on the slate floor in the summer as he finds it so much cooler... now he has two cushions to do so....

I used the ''disappearing 9 patch'' pattern....
I also have managed a finish as well.... WOOHOO...
My friends and I over here last year did an online friendship quilt... we use the ''Applique Delights book from Piece-o-Cake Designs''... we did it as BOM... great fun....
I decided to turn mine into a quillow... my first... I am now no longer a ''quillow virgin''
On my blocks I used beads and crystals... they are so pretty and I am so happy with the finish...

I used a purple patterned fabric for the borders but it hasn't shown up very well in the photo... the flowers in the border are also from the book as is the quillow cushion cover...
I can now take number 6 of my list....

OH MY...
I can't believe it is July and so far into the month and I haven't posted a thing... I have been busy and I have been sewing... first I have been in Perth has ''booby scare'' so off for a round of ''booby squeezes and ultra sounds''... all is well there seems to be a cyst and to me it looks like a black pearl in there and there is a mass that is scar tissue from an infection I had a couple of years ago... then off to the dentist for some gum work.......... but one of my back teeth had broken just before we headed down to the city and was causing havoc with my cheek... so that had to come out... that night turned into a chocolate night... I walked to the servo in my pj's, pink slippers and a rug and bought... two twirls and four giant caramello bears ... they were on special... hehehehehe....
We have had to lock the to new lambs up with there Mum with a huge bale of hay and started feeding them some lupins... she was walking them to death and leaving them behind and her milk supply wasn't very good... she is just hungry and there isn't much food around from lack of rain... now her milk supply is better and the lambs have filled out a little... poor Iggy was getting very boney and compared to his big brother Ivan he looked frail...
Kaaren over at The Painted Quilt is starting a 10 month BOM... Raggedy and Friends... looks wonderful go check it out and keep the 20th of July in your diary for the first download and then the 20th of each month after that..
Well I suppose I best go start my day... you all enjoy yours...
