A Birthday Present For My Little Sister...
This past week I have been finishing the quilt for my sister's 40th birthday... it was in October and I was snowed under with a couple of other things... you know family they just get in the way of your sewing sometimes hehehe...
anyway it's quilted and the binding added...
And you know I always seem to do a dark binding and I have no idea why so this time I used the yellow and I am very happy with this... I noticed Cathy at Cabbage Quilts always uses a funky binding and gee it looks fantastic... I think I will be copying her from now on hehehe....

Lisa has blues and purples in her bedroom with a touch of yellow here and there... the colours have come together really well...
This is the biggest quilt I have made... not sure of the measurements... it fits a queen size bed and hangs down about 16 inches either side... I must say ''I love it and am very happy with the finish''...

This week I have made 14 bottles of tomato sauce... the goal once again is to make 52 bottles one for each week of the year... so keep producing tomato bushes as son is coming home for Xmas and he lovvvvvvvvvveeesssss Mum's tomato sauce...

I am off to Perth this week to help my daughter and her partner move into there new house that they get the keys for today...
very exciting...
we have to clean the rental and hand the keys back for that which we are going to be very glad of as the rental company have been a pain to deal with this past 2 1/2 yrs...

Frilly Dilly Bloomers...
Yeeeehhhhaaaa I have managed to make a Christmas present... woohoo... I have been so ''unchristmas present making mood" ... by this stage I have at least half my presents made... not sure what the problem is but I have made one pressie now and I have quilted my sisters birthday quilt and I have the binding all made which will go on today ready for sewing down...
so I am sewing just not chrissy pressies hehehehe...

Now aren't these just cute
These are a size one as the little Miss who is getting them isn't very big for someone who will be two in a few months...

Frills on the bum... how cute...
and I couldn't just make one pair could I...

I have purchased little t-shirts to match...
so cool for summer especially up here in the heat...
I can't wait to see little Miss Cousin in these...

A Mixed Bundle....
I have been busy this past week machine quilting ''gum leaves'' around the boarder of my "home sweet home BOM"... now I am waiting for the binding fabric to come in the mail and when it is all done I will THEN show you a photo...
Plus we had a quick over night trip to Perth so Hubby could have an ultra sound on his tummy and see the doc... he has a benign tumour but all is well and we will be keeping an eye on it for growth....
it all happens in this ''outback life'' hahahaha...

Last month I did a tea towel swap with some Canadian girls and the theme was Spring/Autumn and this is the tea towel Ann did for me...
Pumpkin Pie
Isn't it just great...
Ann did a wonderful job with her machine satin stitch
and the tea towel is huge.... thank you Mrs Mac xxx

And this is my block from Maria
Who is also doing the swaps here

These are all the RED fat quarters that I got for my birthday from two groups that I am involved with...
So many beautiful reds and they are all different not one the same and they came from all over Australia and Canada... love them all thanks girls xxx

This past couple of weeks this HUGE Gum Tree has been making a absolute mess of my yard and leaving lots of calling cards on my washing....
You can see how big it is next to the washing line....
It is leaving all these little yellow caps on the ground and you must wear something on your feet when out there as they are so sharp... the tree is a buzz with bee's and wasp's after the little flowers...

In these bags are all the 6 inch squares all ready for sewing of my sisters birthday quilt.... blues and purples with a yellow centre...
Sewn into there blocks....
Cut up ready to sew back together again....
The top all finished....
This is quite big as it fits a queen size with a 16 inch hang down on each side...
now for me to quilt it............
I think it will be just in the ditch....

An Oldie And A Newie....
This past week I was at home ALONE...... and I don't do ALONE well out in the middle of the bush... being a LITTLE afraid of the dark doesn't help... so I set up my machine in the lounge room on the large fold out table I have and sewed my little heart out...
I dug out this WIP called ''Home Sweet Home'' and proceed to machine quilt it free motion style...
what a job..........
It was BOM on IFQ and the bottom block had two birds in it but I decided to put a bird in the house block and do the bottom as a paddock with some sheep then added the windmill... more appropriate to my Home Sweet Home...
I forgot how big this was and trying to work on it was hard work... I have two blocks and the borders to finish....
I got a little bored with it so i decided to put it down for a few days and I started on my sisters 40th birthday quilt... pic's tomorrow on that one...

Aqua and Red
