Its Happening...

Yep that's right the patio is up YIPPEE
now we only organised this on the 30 August so it would be well and truly finished before Christmas
and
we would have it all looking lovely with plants and furniture.........
BUT lets just say we wont be using that company for the ''man shed'' that will be built later on...
and yes it is a very large area
today the floor is being done...
so exciting...
went into Spotlight to get some black and white fabric and what did I see....
they were having a 50% off their Christmas stuff
and yesterday I put the tree together...
 took me nearly 2 hours
DD2 and her little family will be here on Sunday so it will get decorated then...
this will be the first ''artificial" tree that we have had as the kids and Hubby generally go for a drive to get a tree out of the bush..... now that we have moved a new tradition will start next year...
we will go to a Christmas Tree Farm and the Grandies will choose...
Jensen will be walking next year so he will be the first...
wonder what size he will choose? might have to have a couple of rules
hahahahahah

Finished Wall Fabricing...

Yep the wall is bare... 72 blocks I made all up in the Depression Block
all from scraps and as I was sewing I was remembering all the different projects they came from..
even the fabrics that came from different friends...
yep it's big... I love quilts that hang down and cover the bed
and this one will go over the pillows too.
the newly painted room with new blind and curtains.
this room was a yellow and covered in fairy stickers and stars...
to give you an idea of what the room was like before.
this is one of the spare rooms... it has a ''strawberry shortcake'' theme and pink.
we have taken most of the stickers off these walls...
the next room that we are working on is ''princess'' themed and a bright lavender colour.

Wall Papering????

No ''Wall Fabricing"
Not sure how many blocks are up there and I have ten more in a pile and I have a tray full of more squares ready to be cut and sewn... trying to close the lid on my scrap boxes was getting a little ridiculous.
all blocks have been totally made from my scraps... the light areas are creams, whites, fawn, tans and shades of yellow... I am hoping to get a very large quilt for a queen size bed... I like them to hang down the sides...
the patter is Depression Block and can be found here

here is a little hat made for the grandie using some fabric that Christine M sent me.
it is the smallest pattern and still a little to big for my little man...
two blocks out for Quilting Block Swaps..
this one is for Margaret
and this one is for Beth...
using up some of the half used balls of wool I have from past projects
this one is big enough for a toddler or baby
I will save it for a pressie
life is good at the moment
and
we have started painting one of the spare bedrooms...
the 3 bedrooms belonged to 3 little girls and were eached themed
Strawberry Shortcake
Fairies
Princesses
hopefully I will do a before and after of the first room.

The Wedding...

Well we have had wedding... last weekend...
and it was just wonderful to see so many young people having such a great time at the reception...
even though it rained and rained and rained for the ceremony and was freezing...
so much for getting our hair done too hahahaha
Our eldest daughter was Matron of Honour
 me with our little man
 proud Dad with beautiful bride
one bride a little tired of smiling...
but I wanted to show you how gorgeous her dress was
vintage lace...
the entrance into the marquee at Caversham House
Hubbies Dads suitcase that he took to boarding school 70 yrs ago...
in the top is what he took...
both girls have now used it for their wishing well.
 yummy cup cakes
lolly bar which was a huge hit with young and old...
 table settings...
the little fella came home with us so the bride and groom could have a night to themselves...
and he was an angel...

Sending and Receiving and Perfection...

I have been in a "Runner Swap"
this year and I think it has gone quite well especially on my receiving end..
this is the runner I received and it couldn't be more perfect for my new home.
 perfect colours
 perfect on the coffee table
perfect with the new lounge suite
and just perfect on the side board under the TV
 thank you Lynda...
this is the runner I sent to my partner
Cheryl...

we have a new addition to the flock
she is about an hour old in these photo's
 and
I had the greatest pleasure in looking after this little man last weekend...
we stayed in a hotel in Geraldton as his Mum was part of a bridal party...
now who would have thought that this little fella has had major surgery a few weeks ago.
Oh and he was meant to be asleep...
