Three Finishes...

Well I did sew my butt off while hubby was away for a couple of days...
I took over the lounge room with the fold out table and set my sewing machine up there for the next 36 hours and achieved what I could to get 2 quilts done and dusted...
the kitchen table was my pinning and cutting table
and there was fabric, batting and pins everywhere...
just so glad no-one dropped in unexpectedly for a cuppa...
Sunday and Monday was my own private ''sew in''
and
yesterday I finished the quilts with the binding in the afternoon
as yesterday morning I had a heap of cooking to do for a workshop at another station today...
so here are my two
Wounded Warrior Quilts for Aussie Hero's

one I stippled and the other straight lined and I free motioned around the applique...
I do have one more of these cut out and ready for the applique...
I also finished off the round of sunflowers on this Round Robin before I had my sew - in...
these projects will be in the mail tomorrow
and then I will have to look at one of my WIP to do...

Busy Sewing...

really I am...
my sewing room is such a mess and the floor needs a good vacuum and a wash...
my cutting table is piled high once again...
on Monday we had a quick day trip to Geraldton I didn't really need to go but it is good to get off the station for the day and I really didn't need to go to Spotlight but I did hehehehe...
well I did need some fabric for binding for 3 quilts for Wounded Warriors via Aussie Hero Quilts
and I did buy some fabric on sale to make some aprons...
so for the rest of the week I have been appliqueing onto the 3 quilts, I have 6 aprons cut out, I have been working on the last side of the ''round robin'' table topper
and I made another mug rug for bits sitting on my cutting table...
geez does it sound like I get bored working on one thing at a time????
the flowers are leftovers from other applique projects that I keep in my heat and bond draw...
which got a good clean out on Tuesday...
I found so many little bags with bits of ready to go applique bits...

now while in Geraldton we went to the pub on a corner
and
had a beer and a wine and watch the people walk past
and
had this scrumptious Seafood Platter
we worked out that the last time we had one of these was over 28 years ago
in a restaurant in near Perth ''BC"... before children..
it was soooooo yummy and we were soooo full...
oh and my friend in Canada received her parcel with the runner and she LOVES it...
and
I have been Pinteresting and wasting so much time in there but.............
there are so many beautiful, wonderful, fantastic ideas in there...
I have added a button on my side there for those that want to look at what I have found...
once I work out how to add some of my things to there I will...

What Have I been Doing...

well I did spring clean the lounge room and kitchen while hubby was away but that is totally boring even though my jars and canisters are now shiny and the inside lounge windows are too...
and
the weather is warm again this weekend I think the birds are loving it and thinking of nesting...
sewing is happening I am busy still sewing sunflowers around the ''round robin'' I have here... hoping to finish the last side today now that I have some heat and bond via mail order...
a few things that I have finished are
 these two are for swaps...
left over cut offs sitting on the cutting table so they are now pot holders...
 remember the sneak peak????
well it is a table runner...
hoping my friend receives it this week...
she is away for a few days and has no idea that it is coming...
hope it arrives while she is away...
while surfing the blogs last week I came across these two...

both tickled me but I love this one the best...

Lots Happening....

Just can't show you yet hahahaha...
plenty of sewing is happening though...
I am working on a secret swap and have nearly finished that and hoping to have it in the mail this Thursday my local town day of shopping and getting mail...
I am also working on a mug rug for a swap which I am half way through and I will be able to show you that one when finished... still waiting for my friend to receive her parcel before I can show the the ''sneak peak'' from last post...
she lives in Canada so hopefully this week she will receive her surprise....
I have been working on a ''round robin'' that I was doing with a group of ladies on an applique site... the site is no longer as the lady running it closed it down leaving us all gobsmacked and events still running... so those of us doing the round robin are still trying to keep in contact and get them finished and back to their owners... I don't have a photo saved on my computer of the first one I add a row to
here is the second one... the theme is ''garden tea party'' to this RR I added the cup cakes and words and the leaves to the centre as the owner did ask if someone wanted to could they... plus the vines was coming up so I thought the leaves would secure it more...
this one is still in Australia in Victoria then it will head home to Canada...
this one is from group two which I am not in the site owner was to get this one but she still hasn't pasted on two other so we have bypassed her...
this lady who owns this lives in Australia and she was hoping to stay with more of a garden theme...
I decided to use the same colours in the yellow pansy for my round and chose to do sunflowers all the way around.... only problem I have run out of heat and bond hahaha and I have one side left to do... not to worry I have some on the way... I just love mail order...
our weather has been ridiculous this weekend... Friday was 29, yesterday was 31 and today we are expecting 30???? on Thursday it was 18????? and on Monday it will be going back to 19??? far to early for the warm weather to start which will only wake up the snakes...........
anyway the warmer days have woken up the lawns and they needed mowing...
the front lawn...
 the side lawn... pool side...
 the lawn out the back...
all looking lovely and neat... mowing lawns is hubby's pet hate...

A Sneak Peak and Some Blog Surfing...

At the moment I am working on two secret squirrel projects
one for a swap and one for a friend
here is a sneak of one of them...
hahaha not much to see...

I have been surfin the net of blogs and gee there is some wonderful stuff out there
something for everyone I think...
I was checking out Di Mill's blog the other day and she had done a posting of pincushions and the ones she had photo's of were very cute... go see here... a couple have free tutorials too.

Aussie Hero's is steam rolling ahead and has been collecting many followers via face-book and the blog... it has become so big for the wonderful inspirational Jan-Maree that she is now delegating to her merry band of wonderful quilters that have been donating ''fabric, quilts, batting, binding, money and their very precious time'' and all doing so for a fantastic cause... go to the site check out the quilts, the thank you emails and see how you can help... there is so much to see and do and there is even a block of the month if you aren't time rich to make a quilt...

If you are looking for a Christmas quilt or patterns head over to Red Brolly as Bronwyn has her gorgeous Christmas Wish Quilt free for you to download...
two parts have already been put up so go get them...

My daughters friend has started a blog recently ''somewhere else this is normal"... it is about her journey through her new life of being a new Mamma... Cassie is a fantastic story teller and her journey as she tells it is hilarious at times and frustrating as all hell at times... I am sure we all know how that goes not only with our first new born baby but with each one we bring home... so go read and see it through her eyes... oh check out the eye candy of a baby she has she is adorable cute beautiful and very precious...
